Clearwater Home - Remodeling
Clearwater Home - Remodeling was a challenging remodel with a tight budget. This townhome from the 70's has a very good floor plan with an easy flow. The first floor offers a Master bedroom with a large walk-in closet and a bathroom, a big living room with sliding doors. The second floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath with lots of storage. This home didn't have any updates since its construction.
The living room had brown carpet, no baseboards, creamy yellowish walls and an old light fan. The kitchen had dark wood cabinets with no knobs, green laminate countertops, a deep/large cabinet was blocking the natural light from the large passing window, fluorescent halogen lighting from the 70"s with a plastic cover (see before pictures) and creamy square tiles on the floor. The kitchen opening to the dining room was small and didn't give any light through.
My work consisted in remodeling the entire first floor:
- Kitchen (including demo - new ceiling and new light ceiling - custom cabinets - new countertop - new floors - fresh paint on walls)
- Living room/dining room
- Hallway
- Corridor
- Walking Closet
- Master bedroom
- Upstairs bathroom
This remodeling cost $22 000 for labor, material, new kitchen appliances and took 6 weeks of work.
The first problem to solve was the lack of light. I drew new plans for the kitchen to get rid of the huge deep cabinet that was blocking the light from the sliding door and adding a new lower cabinet and customized the upper cabinet to keep enough storage.
We got rid of the fake plastic ceiling to let the light go through the upper cabinets and added 6 new LED spotlights in the new ceiling.
Kitchen cabinets got several coats of fresh light blue paint (Benjamin Moore - Britannic blue) and new black handles to fit a modern style.
I've added white quartz countertops and new appliances but couldn't change the backsplash because of the tight budget.
Kitchen
Living room & Dining room
All the floors on this entire first level have been changed to or a beautiful wooden tile with large planks (Floor Decor) and all walls have been repainted in a light white/gray with white baseboards.
Then, we've cut a bigger opening in the kitchen wall to let the natural light going through the dining room/living room and change the old light/fan for a modern LED white chandelier.
